On Thursday 24th November Katrine Boorman and Danny Moynihan hosted a wonderful Drinks Party to say thank you to all the friends and supporters of The Warrior Programme.
Celebrity and business supporters, including John Boorman, the film director, Antonio Carluccio, the celebrity cook and Maia Norman, the fashion designer, joined over 70 guests to help celebrate yet another successful year at Warrior.
Katrine Boorman said:
Warrior goes from strength to strength. The vital work it does is in no small measure thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Tonight is a chance for us to thank them on behalf of the 500 individuals whose lives have been transformed by the charitys work.
Many of the incredibly generous organisations who provide their professional services pro bono to Warrior, such as SNR Denton, Thomas St John Ltd and Legal and General, joined those from organisations who work with ex Service men and women and from regiments such as The Rifles.
The Warrior Programmes significant milestones in the last 12 months include:
* Over 500 individuals have now attended the intensive residential programme.
* A total of £700k has been raised towards the charitys target of £1m by 2012.
* Establishing a successful partnership with Combat Stress, the leading Veterans mental health charity, who refer individuals on to the programme, and support from Help for Heroes.
* Forming our first corporate partnership, with Legal & General, who are offering practical support to the Programme.
The Charity has ambitious plans to support larger numbers of Veterans across a wider geographical area in 2012.
