His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales joined ex-Service personnel and homeless people who have participated in The Warrior Programme for Tea at Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, Fulham London on Wednesday 10 February 2010.
His Royal Highness was greated by Field Marshal Sir John Chapple GCB, CBE, DL, President, Dr Simon Chapman, Chair and Rick Brunwin, CEO of Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation and Lt General Anthony Palmer CBE, Chair, Eva Hamilton MBE, Co Founder and Director and Charlotte Cole, Co Founder and Treasurer of The Warrior Programme.
During the visit His Royal Highness participated in a discussion, chaired by Wing Commander David Hill, CEO, Combat Stress, addressing the need to ensure more effective signposting for ex Service personnel to the services they need. Those contributing included Lt General Anthony Palmer CBE, Chair of The Warrior Programme, Major General Andrew Cumming CBE, The Controller, SSAFA Forces Help, Rick Brunwin, CEO, Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, Doug Davie from the Royal British Legion and Lisa O Connor from Headley Court.
During the Tea Reception His Royal Highness met with fundraisers and supporters of The Warrior Programme including chef Antonio Carluccio OBE, John Illsley of Dire Straits, Charley Boorman and Liam O Maonlai of The Hot House Flowers. Three treatments used in the Programme, Ki Energy, acupuncture and Tai Chi were on display with His Royal Highness briefly joining in a session of Tai Chi.
The highlight of the afternoon for the 'Warriors' was meeting with His Royal Highness over tea and having an opportunity to explain in person what their situations had been and how their lives have changed since attending the Programme. His Royal Highness was visibly moved by their incredible stories.
His Royal Highness was presented with a sapling from one of the ancient Yew trees of Chalice Well by Emily and Ali Fielder.
