LEADING CELEBRITIES SUPPORT LIFE CHANGING NEW CHARITY – THE WARRIOR PROGRAMME’S 1ST ANNIVERSARY DINNER

On the evening of Monday 1st December, The Warrior Programme, a new life changing Charity celebrated it’s First Anniversary at the OBIKA RESTURANT in central London.
THE FUNDRAISING DINNER WAS A RESOUNDING SUCCESS, RAISING ALMOST £20,000 TOWARDS OUR MISSION TO CHANGE LIVES. The exclusive seated dinner for sixty gave an opportunity for leading celebrities and supporters to hear at first hand the impact Warrior has had on the lives of some of the homeless Ex-servicemen. The Ex-servicemen attending included men from The Royal Marine Commandos, The Coldstream Guards, The Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, The Welsh Guards, The Prince of Wales Royal Regiment, The Royal Air Force, 1st Royal Gurkha Rifles, Royal Artillery amongst others. This event will help us roll out the Programme, to reach many more people in need and take it out to other UK cities. The Warrior Programme Charity is aiming to raise £250,000 in 2009, to change the lives of more than 200 people next year. Many thanks to our fabulous patrons and also to Silvio Ursini, Stefano Potorti and the staff of Obika

The Warrior Programme enables individuals to release their unresolved negative emotions such as anger, sadness, guilt and fear, and to move forward positively and productively in their lives. Early external evaluation has revealed a significant shift in participants’ psychological functioning. The Programme is targeted at disadvantaged people such as homeless, Ex-servicemen, people suffering from anxiety, stress and depression. To date 100 people have successfully completed the Programme including 18 homeless Ex-servicemen last week, representing The British Army, The Royal Navy and The Royal Air Force including one serving Major in the Royal Marine Commandos. Many of whom have experienced acute trauma such as post traumatic stress disorder and are struggling to adjust back into civilian life.

The 4 day Programme uses a unique combination of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Meditation. It also includes ongoing monthly meetings that create a supportive community, which is the key to the continuing growth of wellbeing.

‘ We are planning to run 15 programmes in 2009/10, for participants which include ex-service personnel, disadvantaged youth and the homeless.

We will be issuing a press release on Monday evening (1 Dec) around 7 pm concerning an exciting event in central London involving some of our most flamboyant partners -watch this space

“Life can feel like a battle”....

We believe it is not enough just to fight the symptoms of stress, depression and addiction, we must declare war on the emotional pain at the core. The warrior programme aims to change lives by arming people with the right weapons to discharge their emotional pain.

Stress and depression is spiraling out of control in the UK. 31 million prescriptions for antidepressant drugs were written in 2006 [The Times 2007]. The warrior programme has developed in detail an effective process to enable participants to retake control and move forward positively and productively in life.

Who can we help?

Anyone who is suffering depression, anxiety and increased levels of stress, and is serious about changing life for the better. Don’t worry about costs - The warrior programme puts disadvantaged people first, so that means we will help with fees depending on financial circumstances. In fact 75% of participants so far have been sponsored by the charity.

What’s it all about ?

The Warrior Programme is currently offered as a 4 day non residential course with on going support meetings. Participants are shown how to resolve negative feelings and emotional pain through the use of practical tools. This enables people to:

  • Let go of the past and debilitating memories and beliefs
  • Release unnecessary stress, resentments and self-limiting behaviours
  • Rebuild confidence
  • Retake personal responsibility for their lives
  • Create a new future

How can you help ?

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and the dedication of Warrior partners, the Programme has already raised £150,000 which was our target for 2008. We plan to pursue a phased national roll out, with services developed specifically for ex-service personnel, the homeless and disadvantaged youth, amongst others.

Make a donation

What better use can you put your money to, than to help transform lives. We aim to extend the programme to help more participants, our target for 2009 is to raise £250,000 to further the work of the charity. We have witnessed dramatic benefits in many cases which dwarf’s this investment. By focusing our efforts on homeless people; we can together show a novel way to challenge disadvantage and change real lives. What ever you can give, however small will help enormously to enable people to put something back in to society themselves. If you would like to make a donation or sponsor a candidate(currently programmes cost around £2,000 per participant) please make cheques payable to ‘The Warrior Programme’ and send to:

Sponsor someone you care about

Do you know someone who might be a suitable candidate for the programme? Our record indicated that those who are most likely to capitalize on this life-changing opportunity are people who have some history of regular employment, but who have suffered recent setbacks for whatever reason. If there is someone you think may benefit from help, why not give them a real life changing opportunity by becoming a personal sponsor. Please call us to discuss any questions you may have. Remember ‘The Warrior Programme’ is a charity and so the decision as to whether or not we are the right people to help is based on the needs of the person, not on our bank balance.

The Warrior Programme is a registered charity [no. 1120893] and a company limited by guarantee [no. 6263721], registered in England. Registered office: 2nd Floor, 50 Gresham Street, London EC2V 7AY
