It is with utmost sadness that we learn of Nicola Fear’s death and our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues.
Nicola was a real friend to Warrior, she believed in what we do and saw the potential for further positive development. Nicola played a vital role in the development of the evaluation of our programme and in 2015 co peer reviewed our Randomised Controlled Trial, which she subsequently published (with colleagues) in The Journal of Occupational Medicine in 2021. This level of evidence was critical in establishing the credentials for the Charity’s programme and provided the basis for developing and reinforcing the service.
We were delighted and privileged when in 2015 Nicola joined our Trustee Board, bringing her formidable expertise and experience. But more than that, bringing her warmth and humanity. She was always focussed on the people first.
Having completed her term as Trustee in 2021 Nicola continued to work with the Charity to advise on evaluation metrics and to be a valued and much loved sounding board across many issues facing our military community. We will miss her sage advice, common sense approach and especially her humour.
